Located in the French Alps near the Italian border, this exclusive ski resort consists of two distinct areas, Bellevarde and Solaise. La Face de Bellevarde, referred to by those ‘in the know’ as just La Face is the black run that most skier think they should attempt at least once.
Often considered a better resort for more accomplished skiers, there are some gentler slopes lower down in Rosset and Lavachet for those with less experience. It is also regarded as one of the resorts with the longest season, often more than 150 days, partly due to its altitude.
Serviced by 4 international airports, the resort offers over 150km of pistes and is renowned for the range of off-piste skiing. This coupled with the lively après-ski means that it is considered by many as one of the world’s best ski resorts but also one of the most expensive as reinforced by some of the beautiful property for sale in the area.
