Whilst considered by many as an ideal resort for a traditional family beach holiday, there is actually so much more to Santa Ponsa than that. There is a wealth of natural and historical features to be enjoyed and in addition, it is home to some of the most luxurious villas that can be found in Mallorca.
There are two sandy beaches to choose from in Santa Ponsa: ‘the big beach,’ which refers to a 560-metre stretch protected by lifeguards and popular for water sports. There is also the smaller cover Caló d’en Pallisser, known by the locals as ‘playa pequeña,’ which translates literally to mean the small beach.
Set against a stunning backdrop of mountains and woods, Santa Ponsa’s town centre offers world-famous golf resorts in its sprawling outskirts. Famed in Mallorcan history, there are several archaeological sites to visit dating back to the Moorish times as well as the Sa Morisca nature park.
Santa Ponsa is also an ideal base for trips around the island including a boat trip to the well-known nature resort of Dragonera Island. Rest assured, Santa Ponsa is a beautiful and lively spot to own a luxury villa.
When eating out, you will be spoilt for choice with a mix of British, German, Spanish, Italian and Asian bars and restaurants. There is also the annual Rei En Jaume fiesta that takes place in September and usually features around 60 events including a medieval market and live entertainment including a mock battle on the beach.
