Appointments to view property across France to resume

BREAKING NEWS

It is widely expected from this weekend, Saturday 28th November, appointments to view property across France to resume.

During the current Covid Lockdown in France, Estate Agents faced heavy penalties, including fines and the potential of having their licenses revoked should they undertake property viewings, arguably somewhat Draconian measures which did have the desired impact.

Despite this, travel may not be allowed until the 15th of December with the government yet to confirm these measures.

If you are looking to view properties for sale in the French Riviera or Annecy during this period, we suggest you come prepared with the relevant PPE, as this will be required as part of any visit.

Another big issue that remains outstanding is the opening of the ski season in France, which according to President Emmanuel Macron cannot reopen in 2020. This could be massively damaging to the French economy, not only from the travel sector but also the French Alps home buyers sector.

The news comes on the back of reports that travellers from the UK will be allowed to shorten self isolation on returning from overseas travel by taking a Covid test within 5 days of returning to the UK and producing a negative result, another move that will inject the life back into the overseas property sales sector.
